• Abstract:

  HIV historically in the last 30

  years has undergone major changes in the

  natural course of the disease with the advent

  of ART, diagnostic methods and prophylaxis

  for Opportunistic Infections (IOs). National

  and international data’s shows cases of HIV /

  paracoccidioidomycosis coinfection making

  it important to investigate this fungus in the

  context of this immunosuppression since

  diagnostic failures, the use of azolics and

  the use of sulfonamidics may underestimate

  the occurrence of new cases. Therefore, the purpose of this report is to alert to differential diagnosis of paracoccidioidomycosis

  in HIV - positive patients through a review of the literature and collected data’s in

  the patient’s medical record. It’s so important remember this systemic mycosis as

  a differential diagnosis in immunosuppressed patient by HIV due to changes in the

  natural course and clinical gravity in this coinfection aiming to increase accuracy and

  agility in the diagnosis and correct treatment.
