AVALIAÇÃO DA SOBRECARGA DOS CUIDADORES DE PACIENTES DO SERVIÇO ESCOLA DE FISIOTERAPIA – UFPI
O cuidador é o indivíduo membro
da família ou não, que geralmente vive na
mesma casa assumindo o papel de oferecer
cuidados a pessoa doente, podendo este
cuidador adquirir a Síndrome de Burnout,
caracterizada por esgotamento físico e
emocional, gerada em pessoas que mantém
contato direto e contínuo com outros indivíduos.
O objetivo do estudo foi verificar a sobrecarga
dos cuidadores de pacientes atendidos no
Serviço Escola de Fisioterapia da Universidade
Federal do Piauí (SEF-UFPI) e relacionar
com a funcionalidade do paciente, bem como
caracterizar o perfil sócio demográfico desses
cuidadores. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como do
tipo transversal e descritivo, constituindo uma
amostra de 17 cuidadores. Os instrumentos
utilizados foram: Mini Exame do Estado Mental
(MEEM), para avaliar a função cognitiva;
questionário sócio demográfico; Medida de
Independência Funcional (MIF), para avaliar a
funcionalidade e Zarit Burden Interview, para
avaliar a sobrecarga dos cuidadores. Na escala
de Zarit os cuidadores obtiveram pontuaram
de 0-21, pouca ou nenhuma sobrecarga, em
contrapartida com valor médio da MIF (94,29
pontos) que indica uma dependência moderada
do paciente comprovando assim correlação
fraca entre a funcionalidade do paciente e a
sobrecarga do cuidador (p= -0,214), sugerindo
mais investigações semelhantes com amostra
maior e em outros serviços.

Abstract:
The caregiver is the individual
family member or not, who usually lives in the
same house assuming the role of providing care to the sick person, which may acquire
the caregiver burnout syndrome, characterized by physical and emotional exhaustion,
generated in people who maintain direct contact and continuing with other individuals.
The aim of the study was to verify the burden on caregivers of patients seen in the
Service School of Physical Therapy, Federal University of Piauí (SEF-UFPI) and relate
to the patient’s functionality as well as characterize the demographic profile of these
caregivers partner. The research is characterized as the transversal and descriptive,
constituting a sample of 17 caregivers. The instruments used were Mini-Mental State
Examination (MMSE) to assess cognitive function; demographic questionnaire;
Functional Independence Measure (FIM) to evaluate the functionality and Zarit Burden
Interview to assess the burden on caregivers. In Zarit scale caregivers obtained they
scored from 0-21, little or no overhead, in contrast with an average value of MIF (94.29
points) indicating a moderate dependence on patient thus proving weak correlation
between the patient’s functionality and overload caregiver (p= -0.214), suggesting
more research with larger samples and similar other services.
