LOCALIZAÇÃO ESPACIAL DAS ORGANIZAÇÕES DE CATADORES: SEGREGAÇÃO SOCIAL E INVISIBILIDADE
O artigo versa sobre um estudo analítico à respeito do contexto territorial em que as associações e cooperativas de catadores estão inseridas, com o intento de identificar como a desigualdade social está representada nas cidades por meio da espacialização do local de
trabalho dos catadores e triadores classificadores de materiais recicláveis em quatro municípios de Santa Catarina. Após a coleta de dados de localização espacial, foram desenvolvidos mapas com a localização das entidades de catadores dos municípios de
Blumenau, Chapecó, Florianópolis e Joinville. Com a análise das imagens obtidas foi possível identificar um padrão: a maioria das entidades de catadores estão inseridas nas periferias dos municípios, em locais com infraestrutura urbana precária, bem como em Áreas de
Preservação Permanente, o que evidencia um modelo de exclusão territorial defendido por alguns autores. A utilização de Sistemas de Informações Geográficas em estudos com enfoque social é de suma importância para repensar o meio urbano que vem sendo construído e quais os impactos socioambientais em torno dessas questões.

Abstract:
The article deals with an analytical study about the territorial context in which the associations and cooperatives of waste pickers are inserted, with the intention of identifying how social inequality is represented in cities through the spatialization of the workplace of waste pickers and sorters. recyclable materials in four municipalities of Santa Catarina. After collecting spatial location data, maps were developed with the location of the collector entities of the municipalities of Blumenau, Chapecó, Florianópolis and Joinville. With the analysis of the images obtained, it was possible to identify a pattern: most of the pickers' entities are inserted in the peripheries of the municipalities, in places with precarious urban infrastructure, as well as in Permanent Preservation Areas, which shows a model of territorial exclusion defended by some authors. The use of Geographic Information Systems in social researches is extremely important to rethink the urban environment that has been built and the social and environmental impacts surrounding these issues.
