Hotel Cassina: um patrimônio em ruína
Considerando a relevância dos
patrimônios históricos arquitetônicos e sua
importância para a história e memória do
lugar, objetiva-se descrever a história do
Hotel Cassina que atualmente se encontra
em ruínas no centro histórico da cidade de
Manaus - AM. Por se tratar de um edifício
concernente ao período áureo da borracha no
Estado do Amazonas e por estar localizado no
marco zero da cidade, possui grande potencial
para uso cultural e turístico, podendo ser um
produto turístico a ser desenvolvido. A pesquisa
tem um caráter qualitativo em que, no seu
processo de elaboração foram empregados
métodos de pesquisa bibliográfica, exploratória
e documental. Desse modo, observa-se que
há a necessidade de uma ação em prol da
restauração desse edifício e de atribuições
sociais que devem ser impostas ao espaço,
o que permite concluir que há que utilizar
das legislações vigentes, iniciativas do poder
público e participação dos residentes em favor
do reconhecimento do Hotel Cassina.

Abstract:
Considering the relevance of the
historical architectural heritage and its relevance
to the history and memory of the place, it aims
to describe the history of the Hotel Cassina,
which is currently in ruins in the historical center
of the city of Manaus – AM. Because it is a
building concerning the golden age of rubber in
the state of Amazonas and because it is located
in the city’s zero mark, it has great potencial for
cultural and tourist use, and can be a tourism
product to be developed. The research has a
qualitative character in which, in its process of
elaboration were used bibliographic, exploratory
and documentary research methods. Thus, it is
observed that there is a need for action in favor
of the restoration of this building and of social
attributions that must be imposed on space,
which leads to the conclusion that it is necessary
to use existing legislation, initiatives of the public
power and participation of residents in favor of
the recognition of the Hotel Cassina.
