EFEITOS DA FISIOTERAPIA AQUÁTICA NO TRATAMENTO DA SÍNDROME DA FIBROMIALGIA EM MULHERES

A Síndrome da Fibromialgia (SFM) é uma doença caracterizada por dores musculoesqueléticas crônicas, que limitam a atividade de vida diária (AVD). Essa patologia atinge principalmente as mulheres, tendo como sintomas além das referidas dores: distúrbio do sono, distúrbio psicológicos, e rigidez articular matinal. Neste contexto, a Fisioterapia Aquática (FA) tem demonstrado importantes resultados como tratamento desta patologia. Diante do exposto, o objetivo do presente estudo é revisar na literatura os benefícios da FA como tratamento da SFM em mulheres. Foram coletados artigos científicos publicados entre 2009 e 2018 nos idioma português e inglês. Foi verificado que FA é um método que apresenta inúmeros benefícios para mulheres acometidas pela SFM, tais como melhora na qualidade do sono, diminuição de sintomas dolorosos, melhora nas AVD, diminuição da dor, aumento da amplitude de movimento de membros superiores e inferiores e manutenção da força muscular. A FA promove alívio das dores, diminuição do tend point, trazendo também a melhora na qualidade de vida das portadoras da síndrome, os exercícios proporcionam ganho devido a diminuição do impacto, com isso traz benefícios no sono, relaxamento muscular, proporcionando melhora na qualidade de vida.

  • Abstract:

    The Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a disease characterized by chronic musculoskeletal pains, that that limit the activity of daily living (ADL). This pathology affects mainly women, having as symptoms beyond the mentioned pains, sleep disturbance, psychological disorders, and morning articular stiffness. In this context, Aquatic Physiotherapy (AF) has demonstrated important results as treatment of this pathology. In view of the above, the objective of the present study is to review in the literature the benefits of AF as a treatment of FMS in women. Scientific articles published between 2009 and 2018 in Portuguese and English were selected. It has been verified that AF is a method that presents innumerable benefits for women affected by FMS, such as improvement in sleep quality, decrease of painful symptoms, improvement in ADL, decrease of pain, increase of range of movement of upper and lower limbs and maintenance of muscle strength. The FA promotes pain relief, a decrease in the tendon, also bringing about an improvement in the quality of life of patients with the syndrome, the exercises provide gain due to decreased impact, with this brings benefits in sleep, muscle relaxation, providing improvement in the quality of life.
