A EXTRAÇÃO DE PEDRAS PRECIOSAS NA COMUNIDADE JÚLIO BORGES DE SALTO DO JACUÍ/RS
Devido à grande diversidade
existente de pedras preciosas no solo
brasileiro, a indústria de beneficiamento
constitui um amplo mercado no Brasil. Ao
verificar as práticas agrícolas existentes, bem
como as atividades de geração de renda em
comunidades quilombolas destaca-se, em
determinados casos, a exploração de recursos
naturais. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho
é apresentar informações que possibilitem a
construção de um quadro situacional sobre a
Comunidade Júlio Borges, mais precisamente
a relação da Comunidade com a extração
de pedras preciosas nela desenvolvida, e
as possíveis alternativas de diversificação
produtiva e obtenção de renda para auxiliar
no desenvolvimento socioeconômico desta
Comunidade. A metodologia utilizada foi à
pesquisa exploratória e bibliográfica a fim
de identificar trabalhos já realizados sobre o
tema estudado e para a coleta dos dados da
pesquisa foram realizadas entrevistas abertas
com famílias. Através do trabalho foi possível
constatar que a extração de pedras preciosas
está presente na Comunidade Júlio Borges
desde seus primeiros moradores, muito mais
que uma atividade econômica, a extração faz
parte da história das famílias quilombolas.
Portanto, a construção de uma estrutura de
governança, com vista a convergir iniciativas,
harmonizar e integrar conjunto de projetos
executados na região, certamente contribuiria
para potencializar as ações de promoção de
desenvolvimento.

Abstract:
Due to the great diversity of
precious stones in Brazilian soil, the processing
industry constitutes a large market in Brazil.
When verifying the existing agricultural practices,
as well as the activities of income generation
in quilombola communities, in some cases the
exploration of natural resources stands out.
In this sense, the objective of this work is to
present information that allows the construction
of a situational picture about the Júlio Borges
Community, more precisely the relationship of
the Community with the extraction of precious
stones in it, and the possible alternatives
of productive diversification and income generation to assist in the socio-economic
development of this Community. The methodology used was to the exploratory and
bibliographic research in order to identify works already done on the studied subject
and for the collection of the data of the research were conducted open interviews
with families. Through the work it was possible to verify that the extraction of precious
stones is present in the Júlio Borges Community since its first inhabitants, much more
than an economic activity, the extraction is part of the history of the quilombola families.
Therefore, the construction of a governance structure, with a view to converging
initiatives, harmonizing and integrating a set of projects executed in the region, would
certainly contribute to enhancing actions to promote development.
