TERMITES OF THE MARAJÓ ISLAND, STATE OF PARÁ, BRAZIL: COMPOSITION, HABITAT , FEEDING GROUPS AND NESTS
Registros da fauna de cupins da Ilha de Marajó são apresentados pela primeira vez com base em coletas realizadas em nove municípios da Ilha, onde foram encontrados 43 táxons, distribuídos em 18 gêneros e duas famílias: Rhinotermitidae e Termitidae. A família Termitidae foi a mais abundante com o maior número de espécies, principalmente do gênero Nasutitermes.

Abstract:
Registry of termite fauna of the Marajó Island, Pará is shown for the first time based on collections carried through in nine municipalities of the Island, where 43 taxa were found , distributed into 18 genera and two families: Rhinotermitidae and Termitidae. The Termitidae family was most abundant with the greater numbers of species, Nasutitermes genus mainly.
