IMPORTÂNCIA E A RESPONSABILIDADES DA ENFERMAGEM NO ATENDIMENTO DAS CIRURGIAS DE CATARATA NO IDOSO

INTRODUÇÃO: Em 2004, o Ministério da Saúde criou a Política Nacional de Cirurgias Eletivas, (Portaria GM/MS n.º 252, de 6/2/06). Que consiste na ampliação da oferta de procedimentos cirúrgicos já disponíveis, entre outras deficiências relacionadas à idade, incluem-se a perda de visão por (catarata). As cirurgias de catarata, ambulatoriais e hospitalares, registradas em todo o País, chegaram a 348.386 em 2010. Mas no Brasil, estima-se que surjam 552 mil novos casos da doença todos os anos é segundo a OMS recomenda uma taxa de pelo menos 3.000 cirurgias por milhão de habitantes para buscar o fim da cegueira até o ano de 2021. OBJETIVOS: Descrever os cuidados de enfermagem para a cirurgia de catarata em pacientes idosos. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de um estudo de revisão sistemática de literatura científica. RESULTADO: O tratamento cirúrgico dessa doença possibilita a restauração da visão e a reabilitação dos pacientes, possibilitando a sua reinserção à sociedade, inclusive com o retorno a algumas atividades laborais CONCLUSÃO: Assim sendo a educação do paciente é uma ação importante do enfermeiro para com o paciente, em que o fornecimento de informação (orientação), conquista a segurança e confiança frente a cirurgia, devolvendo o paciente a alegria de poder observar um mundo menos embaçado.

    NURSING IMPORTANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIE IN CARING FOR CATARACT SURGERIES IN THE ELDERLY: INTRODUCTION: In 2004, the Ministry of Health created the National Policy on Elective Surgery, (Ordinance GM / MS No. 252, of 6/2/06). This consists of expanding the supply of surgical procedures already available, among other age-related deficiencies, including loss of vision due to (cataracts). Cataract surgeries, outpatient and hospital, registered throughout the country, reached 348,386 in 2010. But in Brazil, it is estimated that 552 thousand new cases of the disease arise every year, according to the World Health Organization recommends a rate of at least 3,000 surgeries per million inhabitants to seek an end to blindness by the year 2021. OBJECTIVES: To describe nursing care for cataract surgery in elderly patients. METHODOLOGY: This is a study of systematic review of scientific literature. RESULT: Surgical treatment of this disease allows the restoration of vision and the rehabilitation of patients, enabling their reintegration into society, including the return to some work activities CONCLUSION: Therefore, patient education is an important action of nurses towards the patient, in which the provision of information (guidance), gains safety and confidence in the face of surgery, returning the patient the joy of being able to observe a less blurred world.
