ALEITAMENTO MATERNO: CONHECIMENTOS DE PUÉRPERAS USUÁRIAS DA MATERNIDADE DE UM HOSPITAL FILANTRÓPICO DE MACAÉ/RJ
Introdução: Estudos indicam que
inúmeros fatores influenciam a prática do
aleitamento materno exclusivo, sendo eles: a
demora da “descida do leite”, ingurgitamento
mamário, manejo, escolaridade, situação
instável com o companheiro etc. É relevante,
portanto, que no período de pré-natal ou no
puerpério sejam identificados os conhecimentos
sobre aleitamento materno para a elaboração
de possíveis estratégias e ações que permitam
aumentar a adesão dessa prática. Objetivo:
Identificar os conhecimentos sobre aleitamento
materno de puérperas assistidas em um
hospital maternidade filantrópico de Macaé.
Metodologia: Realizou-se um estudo descritivo,
de base primária, com puérperas entre 20
e 49 anos, em uma maternidade de Macaé,
entre agosto/2016 e janeiro/2017. Bolsistas,
previamente treinados, entrevistaram puérperas
utilizando um questionário adaptado, contendo
cinco perguntas objetivas sobre aleitamento
materno. Resultados: Foram entrevistadas 58
puérperas com idade média±DP de 30±5 anos,
sendo 84,5% casadas, 94,8% com ensino
superior completo. Quanto às questões sobre
aleitamento materno, 93,1% responderam
corretamente a definições de aleitamento
materno e 67,2% acertaram sobre aleitamento materno misto; 44,8% responderam
corretamente acerca do período indicado pela Organização Mundial da Saúde
para continuar dando o leite materno. Quanto à pega correta ao amamentar e sua
satisfação após a mamada, 41,4% responderam corretamente; 93,1% acertaram a
questão referente ao período de introdução da alimentação complementar. Conclusão:
As puérperas apresentaram conhecimentos acima de 2/3 em duas questões sobre
aleitamento materno. Contudo, mais da metade não respondeu corretamente sobre
tempo de continuidade do leite materno, pega correta e satisfação após a mamada.

Abstract:
Introduction: Studies indicate that a number of factors influence the practice
of exclusive breastfeeding, such as delayed breast reduction, breast engorgement,
management, schooling, unstable situation with the partner, etc. It is relevant, therefore,
that in the prenatal or puerperal period the knowledge about breastfeeding should be
identified for the elaboration of possible strategies and actions that allow to increase
the adhesion of this practice. Objective: To identify the knowledge about breastfeeding
of postpartum women assisted in a philanthropic maternity in Macaé. Methodology:
A descriptive, primary-based study was performed with puerperae between 20 and
49 years of age, in a maternity hospital in Macaé between August 2016 and January
2017. Previously trained scholarship student interviewed postpartum women using an
adapted questionnaire containing five objective questions about breastfeeding. Results:
Fifty - five women with a mean age±SD of 30±5 years were interviewed, 84.5% of whom
were married, 94.8% of them had completed higher education. Regarding the issues
of breastfeeding, 93.1% correctly answered the definitions of breastfeeding and 67.2%
agreed on mixed breastfeeding; 44.8% answered correctly about the period indicated
by the World Health Organization to continue giving breastmilk. Regarding the correct
suckling point and satisfaction after breastfeeding, 41.4% answered correctly; 93.1%
answered the question regarding the period of introduction of complementary feeding.
Conclusion: Postpartum women presented knowledge above 2/3 in two questions
about breastfeeding. However, more than half did not respond correctly about breast
milk continuity time, correct grasp and satisfaction after breastfeeding
