  • Abstract:

The current study addresses the relationship between society, economy and environment in the perspective of sustainable development. In order to promote knowledge about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the Agenda 2030 proposed by the UN in 2015, it was desired to build a critical sense in relation to the role that citizens play in their daily lives in contributing to sustainable development, through the “Workshop getting to know the 17 SDGs”. The consolidation of this workshop was possible through its successful appearance within the schedule from IFPE - Campus Recife’s Environment Week. The theoretical framework here presented is based on works by authors who talk about the environment, environmental education and sustainable development, whose concepts are involved with the 17 SDGs presented in UN’s Agenda 2030 (2015). As for its methodology, it consists of participatory study, where each workshop participant gave an opinion and expressed their ideas on the subject in the discussion’s scope on the topic, building a schematic figure relating the 17 SDGs globally. In what concerns the results obtained, it was found that the participants were able to understand that the 17 SDGs are part of their daily routine and that each and everyone has the role of contributing to the achievement of the goals to obtain a better world.
