UM MODO COMUM DE NARRAR: A INFLUÊNCIA DOS ESCRITOS DE POE NA OBRA DE GAIMAN
O principal objetivo deste estudo é construir uma visão inicial das
influências que o método discutido por Edgar Allan Poe em A Filosofia da
Composição (1846) teria sobre a escrita e estruturação da narrativa do autor
britânico Neil Gaiman. Por meio da leitura e análise da obra Coraline (2003),
pretende-se aproximar o texto de um escritor em atual evidência às técnicas
apresentadas por Poe, no intuito de compreender como o conceito de escrita
consciente, trabalhada em A Filosofia da composição, é incorporado na
narrativa. Focaremos então nas consequências dessa postura, pensando nas
escolhas feitas pelo escritor ao tratar sobre a extensão do texto, no efeito a
causar no leitor e no tom da história. Por fim, buscaremos identificar caminhos
para o entendimento da construção do suspense na obra de ambos como
ponte entre estilos temporalmente distantes, mas reforçando o fato de que
técnicas eficientes são atemporais. Servirão de aportes teóricos os textos de
Todorov (1975), na intenção de discutir aspectos sobre o fantástico na
literatura; os conceitos de Iser (1996), quanto ao efeito estético; os escritos de
Eagleton (1997) como consideração de base sobre teoria da Literatura assim
como artigos relacionados ao tema aqui proposto.

Abstract:
The main objective of this study is to construct an initial view of
the influences that the method discussed by Edgar Allan Poe into Philosophy of
Composition (1846) would have about writing and structuring of the British
author Neil Gaiman’s narrative. Through reading and analysis of the work
Coraline, (2003) intends to approach the text of a writer in present evidence to
the techniques presented by Poe, in objective of understand how the concept of
conscious writing, worked into A Philosophy of composition, is incorporated In
the narrative. We’ll focus on the consequences of this stance, thinking about the
choices made by the writer in dealing with about extent of the text, the effect it
causes on the reader and the tone of the story. Finally, we’ll seek to identify
ways to understand the construction of suspense in the work of both like bridge
between temporarily distant styles, but reinforcing the fact which efficient
techniques are Beyond time. Todorov’s text (1975) will serve as theoretical
contributions, in purpose to discuss aspects about the fantastic in literature;
Iser’s concepts(1996), regarding the aesthetic effect; The writings of Eagleton
(1997) like a basic consideration about theory Literature as well as articles
related to the theme proposed here.
