  • Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to analyze publications about the conceptions of justice and ethical values that circulate in schools between teachers and students. The present article involves a study of the literature of social psychology on the social representations of justice related to education. For the investigation of the proposed theme, bibliographical research was carried out in texts, books and in the following databases: Scielo and CAPES. When starting to search the database, 18 articles were initially found referring to social representations in different contexts besides the socio-educational one, including the themes of violence and transportation.

In a more refined search and with the appropriate descriptors, 7 specific articles were found with the appropriate descriptors used. Due to the small number of articles, we chose to describe each one, highlighting its main points and contributions to the present study. Of the studies analyzed, it is noted that questionnaires are the most frequent instruments, since the approach to social representations uses methodologies that prioritize both qualitative and quantitative field research.

In the quantitative surveys, we can see the considerable number of participants who answered questionnaires, totaling 507. In the qualitative survey, there was also an appreciation of the quantitative since in the research by Menin and Zechi (2015) 100 experiences were analyzed and in the documentary research (Dantas, 2014 ) 47 reports. There was only a literature review. In conclusion, research that links justice and ethical values with education in the last decade is relatively scarce and does not present inconsistencies between them. The results and discussions of these surveys, taken together, demonstrate that there is little concern in relation to moral education and try to understand how students represent the injustices experienced at school, highlighting the distribution of goods and also punishment as a form of retribution.
