MENSURAÇÃO ENTRE AS ORIGENS DAS RAMIFICAÇÕES DO ARCO AÓRTICO E A PREVALÊNCIA DO TRONCO BICAROTÍDEO EM CÃES E GATOS.
Em cães e gatos, os ramos colaterais
do arco aórtico são o tronco braquiocefálico e a
artéria subclávia esquerda. Segundo a literatura,
na maioria dos casos, o tronco braquiocefálico
emite, como primeiro ramo colateral, a artéria
carótida comum esquerda e se continua como
um tronco comum entre as artérias carótida
comum e subclávia direitas. Ocasionalmente,
pode-se observar a presença de um curto
tronco bicarotídeo, seguido da emissão da
artéria subclávia direita. O objetivo deste
trabalho é de relatar a distância, em milímetros
(mm), entre as origens das ramificações do
arco aórtico e a prevalência de surgimento do
tronco bicarotídeo, em cães e gatos.

Abstract:
In cats and dogs, the main branches of the aortic arch are the
brachiocephalic trunk and left subclavian artery. The left common carotid artery is
the first branch of the brachiocephalic trunk, after which the brachiocephalic trunk
continues and ultimately divides into the right common carotid and right subclavian
arteries. One anatomic variant is the presence of a short bicarotid trunk, from which
the right subclavian artery originates. The objectives of this study were to report the
distance, in millimeters (mm), between the origins of the branches of the aortic arch
AND TO DETERMINE THE PREVALENCE OF THE BICAROTID TRUNK IN DOGS
AND CATS.
